Suzy and Mike had a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony in Ann Arbor, with a lovely Wellers Carriage House wedding reception in Saline.
Ann Arbor wedding ceremony
Their Ann Arbor wedding ceremony took place outdoors, on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor. They had a tent full of family and friends, and they were all so excited to see them get married! We went to the University of Michigan Law Quad for wedding photos, which is a classic location known for its historic architecture and lovely foliage. It was such a nice few moments that we got to capture them being together as a married couple!
The Story
These two have a great relationship that is built on love, friendship and intellect. Literature plays an important role in their lives, as Mike is a writing professor. Their toasts were both literary and touching, with creative touches throughout their wedding- including the cutest typewriter themed favor packages!
We are lucky enough to have met Suzy and Mike through family connections. The two of us photographed Suzy’s brother Jon’s wedding a few years ago in Ypsilanti, and it was so great to see Jon and Pam again, along with their beautiful baby daughter. We love watching our couples grow their families, and we love keeping up with them beyond their wedding days!
Some Details
The day flowed perfectly, due in no small part to the wonderful team from Best Day Ever by Jen House Designs. We were already big fans of Jen House Designs floral designs- we’ve seen the most gorgeous wedding florals from them! But this was our first time working with their wedding coordinating team, and we were so impressed! Olivia was amazing with communication and SO on it with the schedule. It was lovely to work with these wonderful ladies!
Suzy received the most unique gift from Mike before the ceremony- a muonionalusta necklace, which is made from an actual meteorite! That has to be one of the coolest gifts we have ever seen. Out of this world!! 🙂
Wellers Carriage House Wedding Reception
Suzy and Mike’s Wellers Carriage House wedding reception could not have been more perfect. The weather was lovely- an August evening with a slight breeze, sunny skies and mild temperatures. Amazing for this summer with all of the overwhelming heat and rain we’ve had! The crowd mingled casually outside the carriage house after dinner, dancing and chatting and catching up with old friends. It was a lovely night! We had a great time capturing their wedding day and are so happy for them!!
