Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This dismal Michigan winter, with the record setting polar vortex, snowstorms, freezing rain, grey skies, and icy roads has us feeling nostalgic for our beautiful wedding season- only a few short months ago, but it seems like an eternity! It was a hot summer but it was worth a little sweat for the lovely weddings we photographed and wonderful couples we were fortunate to work with. Here are some of our favorite highlights!
The season started off in the spring with a gorgeous Ghanaian-American wedding celebration– the result of a chance meeting for Akisha and Benjamin that turned into destiny! Their amazing celebration at The Rattlesnake Club and photos in the historic Fisher Building was a fantastic start to our season!
We had an elegant yet rustic farm wedding at the always wonderful Frutig Farms- Misty Farm in Ann Arbor. This farm wedding venue has so many lovely areas for photography, and this particular wedding had a great addition- Tara and Nick’s dog Batman! A rescue dog makes the best best man!
Another amazing Ann Arbor wedding was at Zingerman’s Greyline. We took Patty and John to Ann Arbor’s lovely Law Quad for photos, and then onto Zingerman’s newest event venue in downtown Ann Arbor. The food, service, and ambience were impeccable- no surprise considering it’s Zingerman’s! You might also remember this cute couple from their super romantic Downtown Detroit engagement session.
Tiffany and Ben’s wedding at Oak Pointe Country Club in Brighton was a lovely outdoor garden ceremony. We so enjoyed working with them for both their wedding and their Ann Arbor fall engagement session. What a wonderful couple!
Another Ann Arbor wedding ceremony was Katie and Drew’s at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. You might remember them from their beautiful fall Ann Arbor engagement session at Nichols Arboretum. Their elegant reception at the Detroit Athletic Club was amazing- so chic yet so heartfelt and touching!
We so enjoyed Alexandra and Cody’s Ann Arbor wedding at the Travis Pointe Country Club. They were so fun and so in love! We did their first look in Ann Arbor’s Law Quad on the U of M campus. We had such a great time working with LG Event Designs for the first time, and cannot wait to work with Lisa again- she was amazing!
Another beautiful Michigan country club wedding was Julie and Tony’s at Fox Hills Country Club. This was one of our favorite stories- they reunited after over 20 years apart, and found true love again! It was so great to celebrate with them. Another example of lovely floral design by Jen House Design!
Rachel and Michael’s wedding was truly unique- Rachel designed and planned so much of the visuals and feel of their amazing wedding day! They were so sweet and the crisp but sunny October day at the Royal Park Hotel and Cherry Creek Golf Club couldn’t have been more perfect, and reflected their love and personalities so well! We also loved photographing them and their adorable dog, Arya, for their Ann Arbor engagement session.
We finished our season off with a stormy fall wedding at The Ann Arbor City Club. We are so thrilled that Pauline and Mark found each other and brought their children, friends, and families together for this awesome celebration. And Pauline’s red dress? Absolutely breathtaking!! Her favorite color, and such a bold statement of love <3
