Melissa and Ty had an awesome (and only slightly rainy!) wedding day in Ann Arbor, at Concordia University’s historic Earhart Manor. We started off the day in downtown Ann Arbor, where they love to hang out and where, nearby, Ty proposed to Melissa on a wild scavenger hunt! Melissa’s details were so pretty and vintage- her adorable “something-blue” shoes, both of her amazing dresses, and the color coordinated parasols went great with the girls bright sunny dresses and the guys unique bow ties. Her mom is a renaissance woman- she did all of the floral design, and each bouquet was wrapped with pieces from her own wedding veil. She also made their picture-perfect wedding cake! The blue mason jars all came from Melissa’s grandmother’s basement, and the teacher-themed apples and pencils with vintage salt & pepper shakers rounded out the DIY table settings, with a happy color palette of sunny yellow and light aqua blue. Their ceremony was touching, emotional, and happy, and the rain waited until it was over to start pouring. But they were rewarded with a rainbow on their wedding day, and the guests couldn’t have had a better time, dancing to great old Motown, soul, and dance music by The 1’s and 2’s. We had a great time working with Melissa and Ty for their wedding!
