Leslie & Derek’s Lovely Summer Wedding At Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Leslie and Derek had an amazing wedding day at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens in Ann Arbor. Their intimate ceremony took place in the Alexandra Hicks Herb Knot Garden, with their closest friends and family surrounding them. The ceremony was so personal- Leslie slipped her wedding shoes right into her late father’s cozy slippers to escort her down the last part of the aisle directly into Derek’s arms. Her dazzling smile lit up the garden and Derek couldn’t contain his emotions- there really weren’t too many dry eyes in the crowd! The ceremony featured little known facts about each of them, both funny and touching. Derek surprised Leslie with a custom aged barrel, with the milestones of their life together so far burned into the wood. She carried her grandmother’s rosary wrapped around her bouquet, beautifully designed by Red Poppy.  The sky opened up with a big storm, only minutes after their ceremony ended. Fortunately, we had the amazing conservatory for photos. We then headed over to Vinology for an intimate reception. Leslie and Derek had an incredible wedding day and we are so happy they chose us to be a part of it!
