There was no way Emily and Matt were going to let snow get them down on their amazing wedding day! It is April in Michigan after all, and the two things you can count on are taxes and crazy weather! It was a bit chilly outside, but love filled the day with warmth and happiness. Emily and Matt were both so excited as they got ready for the wedding, each surrounded by amazing people. Emily’s girls, “the most beautiful bridesmaids, inside and out” as she put it, were relaxed and happy, cheering her on as they lunched and got ready at the Westin Book Cadillac. Her mom and sister helped with her amazing dress and her finishing touches. There were so many special details- Emily wore her late grandmother’s sapphire ring, as well as her signature scent, Chanel No. 5. She had a touching first look with her father at the church, where he married her mother over 30 years ago. Matt’s mother never stopped smiling, and it was said so many times that his father’s presence could be felt throughout the entire day and evening.
After the ceremony, we braved the snowy weather and headed to The Belt and the Z Lot to check out both the impressive murals and the amazing view of downtown Detroit. Their reception at The Colony Club was both elegant and so much fun. Mary Ann Ross was their DJ, and she rocked the house! People were shaking it on the dance floor all night! We had a great time working with Owen Video, and as usual, can’t wait to see the video! We are so very happy for Emily and Matt and are so honored they chose us to document this amazing day for them!
